Elton is a lawyer in the commercial property team where he advises on a variety of large-scale commercial and residential transactions.

Elton prides himself on being able to demystify the law and offer practical and pragmatic advice to his clients.

Expertise

Elton mainly deals with:

• the sale and purchase of freehold and leasehold property
• re-financing
• transfer of equity
• secured lending transactions acting for lenders, borrowers and guarantors in financing arrangements
• SME business sales and purchases
• landlord and tenant transactions for new leases, existing leases, lease renewals, lease extensions and a wide range of licenses
• auction sales and purchases.

Work highlights include advising on:

• The £25m re-finance of a portfolio of mixed-use properties for a boutique supermarket chain.
• The purchase of a £10m high end London property.
• The £3m purchase of agricultural land in Hertfordshire for future development purposes.
• The purchase of land from the Crown Estate.
• The £20m re-finance of a portfolio of residential care homes for a major high street lender.
• Acting on behalf of a restaurant chain tenant in the grant of leases on various shopping centre premises including Westfield Stratford and Wembley Park.
• The £15m re-finance of a portfolio of properties for a pharmacy chain.

After completing his LPC at the University of Law, Elton trained at a legal 500 firm where he qualified as a solicitor in October 2019. He joined Debenhams Ottaway in May 2022.
