Debenhams Ottaway charity quiz raises £5,640 for The OLLIE Foundation

Debenhams Ottaway has raised £5,640 for suicide prevention and wellbeing charity The OLLIE Foundation after bringing local businesses together for a charity quiz night at St Michael’s Manor in St Albans.

The event welcomed teams from across the local business community for an evening of networking, fundraising and friendly competition, with guests taking part in a range of quiz rounds including an interactive runaround round and a spinning wheel round, bringing a TV quiz feel to the night.

The money raised will support The OLLIE Foundation’s work helping to prevent suicide and promote wellbeing. The St Albans-based charity provides accessible in-person and online talks, panel discussions, wellbeing skill-building and safety planning sessions, giving people the confidence to support those who may be struggling and helping ensure no one feels suicide is their only option.

The evening was part of Debenhams Ottaway’s wider three-year charity partnership with The OLLIE Foundation. The firm is committed to taking a long-term, collaborative approach to supporting local causes, using fundraising, awareness-raising and its relationships across the business community to make a meaningful difference.

Susan Glenholme, managing partner at Debenhams Ottaway, said: “Our partnership with The OLLIE Foundation is about working together to raise awareness, support vital prevention work and help create a lasting positive impact. We are incredibly proud that the funds raised will be used directly to help local secondary schools respond to the mandatory integration of suicide prevention training and integrating it into their curriculum starting September 2026.”
