Debenhams Ottaway has achieved another strong set of results in Chambers UK 2027. The results follow our recent Legal 500 2027 success, where every ranking was maintained, and the Chambers High Net Worth guide released earlier this year, where we retained our top band ranking for private wealth law.

The 2027 Chambers UK guide recognises six of our teams. Employment has risen to band 3 and insolvency and restructuring to band 2, while our corporate and commercial, commercial litigation and commercial property teams have maintained their rankings. Our family law team is ranked in band 2. Together, the results demonstrate the consistent accomplishments of our people and the strength of our advice across services for businesses and individuals.

Several individual lawyers have also moved up the rankings. Alexander Neale is now ranked in band 1 for restructuring/insolvency, James Brawn in band 2 for corporate/M&A, Louise Attrup in band 2 for employment and Neil Mercer in band 2 for real estate. Helen Clyne also enters the Chambers UK rankings for the first time for her family mediation expertise.

This consistency reflects the Debenhams Ottaway One Team strategy: working collaboratively across specialisms, building trusted relationships and taking the time to understand what matters most to each client. It enables us to provide dependable service and practical advice that helps businesses and individuals move forward with confidence at key stages in their lives and organisations.

Chambers’ rankings draw on independent feedback from clients, referrers and peers, who consistently praise our technical expertise, attention to detail and ability to handle complex matters. They value clear, commercial and pragmatic advice, grounded in a deep understanding of their wider objectives. This trusted adviser approach is reinforced by responsive, approachable service, jargon-free communication and practical reassurance when it matters most.
