We are thrilled to be the lead sponsor for the inaugural TEDx event in St Albans on 26 October and looking forward to being involved in a community event that explores connection.
As a thriving local business, our involvement in the local community is deeply embedded in our culture. We focus on local charities where we can make a difference and are currently supporting Small Acts of Kindness that helps older people feel warm in their homes and connected to their community. We have sponsored the St Albans Charity Cyle ride for many years, organised by the two rotary Clubs of St Albans, which raises money for local charities including Rennie Grove Hospice. Our lawyers regularly work with the Hertfordshire Law clinic to give free advice to the local community and supervise law students at the University of Hertfordshire.
Susan Glenholme, managing partner of Debenhams Ottaway, has recently been appointed as a Director on the Board of the St Albans District Chamber of Commerce and is passionate about serving the local community.
She comments “Sponsoring TEDx St Albans is a wonderful opportunity for Debenhams Ottaway to collaborate with a partnership that aligns with our own culture and goals to spark conversation, connection and community. We always aim to be transparent and open in our communication and knowledge sharing, whilst promoting diversity, inclusivity, and integrity. I hope that Debenhams Ottaway can help to bring a thought provoking and inspiring day to St Albans that connects the community and will be the start of many future successful TEDx events.”
