Debenhams Ottaway is excited to partner with local charity Small Acts of Kindness for 2022/23. Voted for by our employees, our focus continues to be on helping small local charities where we can really make a difference.

Small Acts of Kindness want every older person to feel warm in their home and connected to their community. They do this by sourcing and distributing practical gifts that reduce the negative impact that feeling lonely and isolated can have on older people’s physical and mental wellbeing. They connect communities with kindness.

To launch our collaborative partnership with the charity, our people are sharing their words of kindness to help end loneliness. The campaign coincides with Mental Health Awareness Week, its theme this year is loneliness. Small Acts of Kindness is asking all its supporters to write their own messages of kindness that will be included in their gift bags this winter. These messages could make a difference and help an older person feel less lonely and isolated.

Lynne Misner, CEO, Small Acts of Kindness said, “We are delighted to be Debenhams Ottaway’s chosen charity and are excited about the incredible opportunities that this opens up to help some of the most vulnerable older people in our community – particularly those who are cold in their home. We look forward to working together to connect our community with kindness.
