The Eurojuris private wealth group focuses on cross-border issues in the areas of private wealth – Wills, trusts, probate, family/divorce and property. It is made up of law firms throughout Europe and beyond who are all committed to working together to look after their clients. The group members aim to provide joined up advice to individuals looking for legal advice on private wealth matters in various jurisdictions. The group is chaired jointly by lawyers and Eurojuris members, Susan Glenholme and Anneloes van Tuijn.
At our most recent virtual group meeting we were joined by Matthew Cameron from Ashtons Legal and Dennis Phillips from Buckles Solicitors, who shared views on the pros and cons of one or multiple Wills across jurisdictions, in particular Spain, France and Italy.
“I have worked in this area for nearly 20 years – first as a trainee with Debenhams Ottaway and now as managing partner. My time is split between management and generating work for our team of over 30 private wealth lawyers. Our clients range from local families in St Albans to multimillion pound entrepreneurs based in London and the rest of the UK. Many of our clients have properties and assets throughout Europe. Within the private wealth sector we provide Wills, trusts and probate, family/divorce, residential property, employment and commercial advice.“ Susan Glenholme, Debenhams Ottaway.
“Over the past 12 years, I have gained a lot of experience in the private wealth sector. I started my career with Van Zinnicq Bergmann. My main focus has always been private client work. In January 2021 I started a law firm in ‘s-Hertogenbosch in the south of The Netherlands. The majority of my time is spent as a lawyer and mediator on (international) divorce related cases.” Anneloes Van Tuijn, A Van Tuijn advocaat en mediator.
