Elizabeth is a lawyer in our award-winning private client team. She advises on all aspects of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection applications, estate administration and tax planning.

Expertise

Elizabeth assists clients in planning for the future with preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney. She also advises clients looking to update their existing Wills because of changes in their circumstances. Elizabeth also deals with a wealth of estate administration on behalf of clients, following the loss of a loved one.

She has built a wealth of experience in private client law in recent years, whilst continually approaching matters with the care and sensitivity they often require.

She initially specialised in mental health law and represented clients before the Mental Health Tribunal, predominantly regarding their detention under the Mental Health Act 1987. She retrained in private client in early 2018 and is often able to apply her prior knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 to this area of law.

She prides herself on her bespoke client care skills which she attributes to her time in this area, helping clients who were often amongst the most vulnerable cross-section of society.

Elizabeth studied Law at the University of Plymouth and completed her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London in 2011. Elizabeth qualified as a solicitor in 2016 and joined Debenhams Ottaway in September 2020.
