We helped a company who had recruited an employee for 12 month fixed term maternity cover.  The employee made a serious complaint and was put on garden leave for the remainder of her employment.

The employee made a grievance claim against the employer which was not upheld and the employer dropped the disciplinary. The employee then issued an Employment Tribunal claim for automatic unfair dismissal on the grounds that her employment had been terminated due to numerous protected disclosures she had made during her employment.

Following the disclosure stage the employee applied for specific disclosure which we successfully resisted. Following repeated references to the merits of the claim and conduct the employer avoided a five  day hearing, additional costs in preparing for trial and avoided the potentially damaging allegations being heard in open trial.
