St Albans law firm Debenhams Ottaway is running various Christmas fundraising activities for its staff throughout December to raise money for its chosen charity, Youth Talk.
Keeping with tradition, staff will be taking part in the national Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 11 December with all proceeds going to Youth Talk, and a prize for the best festive knit. This year will be a bit different with the annual group Christmas jumper photo being captured on Zoom.
Other competitions include the Best Dressed Christmas Tree and a Christmas Colouring competition for children.
Debenhams Ottaway has also donated £200 to Youth Talk instead of sending Christmas cards to clients.
Youth Talk was chosen by staff as their charity of the year because of the incredible work it does to help young and vulnerable people across St Albans. Mental health and wellbeing need to be promoted and talked about in all workplaces. It’s especially important this year with many people suffering with mental health problems because of the pandemic.
Managing Partner, Susan Glenholme comments, “Christmas fundraising has always been popular at Debenhams Ottaway. Although we cannot physically be together this year, we’ve got lots of fun activities to get everyone ready for the festive season. This has been a very difficult year for a lot of people, and we hope this will create some Christmas cheer while raising money for our wonderful chosen charity, Youth Talk.”
All the festive fun will be captured on social media – follow @DebenhamsOtt to find out more.
