Lorna Bowler, the young cyclist we are sponsoring through the SportsAid programme has had a great start to this year’s main races. Lorna raced in the recent Youth Tour of Scotland last weekend with some impressive results. She won a 3rd, 5th and 4th place on the individual stages over the weekend, and 3rd overall in the points classification. Her success contributed to her team taking 2nd place in the Team Time Trial and coming 2nd overall.
Lorna narrowly missed out on taking the overall win this year after her team lost by just 18 seconds on the team time trial but she still managed an impressive 4th place overall out of 54 riders.
This was soon followed by the Hetton National race in Tyne and Wear where she came 6th out of 68 riders.
Our sponsorship has allowed Lorna to buy new handlebars and other cycling equipment and clothing.
