Last night the leading advisors to the private client industry attended the national STEP Private Client Awards 2014 at the London Hilton Park Lane. Hertfordshire firm Debenhams Ottaway was one of five UK firms shortlisted in the ‘Legal Team of the Year (midsize)’ category.
These prestigious awards, hosted by comedian and actor Hugh Dennis, were held in recognition of excellence among private client solicitors, accountants, barristers, bankers, trust managers and financial advisors, not just in the UK but also internationally. STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) is a worldwide professional association for practitioners that deal with private wealth, inheritance and succession planning promoting high professional standards among its members and helping to improve public understanding of these important issues.
This is the second time Debenhams Ottaway has been shortlisted for these awards. The judging panel based their decision on a variety of factors including the team’s ability to undertake complex and demanding issues, demonstrate sector specialism, offer exceptional levels of client care, and show how the team continues to develop its expertise to benefit its clients. The winner of the award was Cripps.
Susan Glenholme, private client partner at Debenhams Ottaway commented “We were delighted to be shortlisted again this year and we were up against some tough competition. Gaining recognition from such a respected organisation within our industry establishes us as a leading private client practice not just in the Hertfordshire area, but also across the UK. Congratulations to all the winners.”
