Debenhams Ottaway’s private client team shortlisted for national award

For the second year running, the Debenhams Ottaway private client team has been shortlisted for Legal Team of the Year (Midsize) at the national STEP Private Client Awards. They are up against 4 other teams from across the UK.

The private client team at Debenhams Ottaway is one of the largest in Hertfordshire, known for its expertise in all legal aspects of personal wealth management – wills, lasting powers of attorney, tax planning, probate and estate administration.  Earlier this year they gained the Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme (WIQS) accreditation and were one of only 19 firms nationwide invited by the Law Society to pilot the scheme.

They are recognised and trusted for their expertise and commitment to their clients.  A recent case involved the financial abuse of a local vulnerable man, Mr Hornett.  Debenhams Ottaway played a leading role in identifying the problems, ensuring the offenders were brought to court and that the intended charities benefited from Mr Hornett’s will.  One of the defendants was handed a 7 year prison sentence.
