Debenhams Ottaway sponsors ‘New Business Award’
As part of its focus on encouraging new and thriving businesses in St Albans, Debenhams Ottaway is sponsoring the ‘New Business Award’ at the St Albans District Chamber of Commerce Community Business Awards 2014. These awards are a great opportunity to celebrate local businesses and recognise how they are helping the local economy develop.
A recent report carried out by Grant Thornton on the top St Albans companies, where Debenhams Ottaway was the only law firm listed, identified a big business community in the City that is well placed to keep growing with the top 100 businesses generating £8.8bn in revenue and employing a large number of people from the local area.
In recent years, Debenhams Ottaway has built up a strong client base of local entrepreneurs, owner managed and medium-sized businesses. Commenting on the awards, Chief Executive Ian Hopkins said “Setting up a new business takes energy and imagination. We work with so many local thriving businesses of varying sizes where we see this every day. This is a great opportunity to recognise new businesses who’ve shown entrepreneurial flair and have managed to succeed despite the challenging economic climate in recent years.”
The deadline for nominations is 30 June 2014 and the awards ceremony will take place on 25 September at St Albans Cathedral.
