Debenhams Ottaway picked up the ‘Medium to Large Business of the Year’ award at the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards 2014 last night. The award was in recognition of the firm’s modern approach to providing excellent legal advice and exceptional client service (98% of clients would recommend them).
Debenhams Ottaway has been part of the Hertfordshire landscape for many years but has actively pursued change in recent years to ensure it is a leading 21st Century firm. Whilst sticking to its core values and traditional principles of experience, knowledge and roots in the local community, Debenhams Ottaway has seen considerable growth in its commercial and property practices and has maintained its leading position in family and private client. In a busy year, including the launch of a new brand to better reflect the organisation in 2014, it continues to place great importance on understanding the needs of local businesses, families and individuals and to helping them make life go the way they want it to.
It doesn’t stop there with some other key projects planned over the next few years, including a major IT upgrade to improve speed and quality of service and further growth in its leading practice areas.
The judges were impressed by “their growth which is consistent and sustainable, investment in and development of their people and constant improvement to commercial and corporate services. This was an excellent submission and an upbeat picture from a company firmly established in Hertfordshire”.
Chief Executive Ian Hopkins comments “This award is a great achievement for all our staff and well deserved recognition of their energy and imagination in providing the very best legal advice and service to our clients. Thank you to Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce for organising such a great evening and congratulations to all the other winners“.
