Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust is the leading voice for wildlife conservation across Hertfordshire and Middlesex. Through their 22,000 volunteers, they help to maintain nature reserves covering nearly 2,000 acres, from beautiful wetlands and woodlands to rare patches of heath and orchard.

The charity sector team at Debenhams Ottaway worked with the organisation to update its articles of association in order to put in place modern and robust procedures to make sure it can continue with its amazing work well into the future.  The organisation operates as a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity with objects of protecting wildlife.

Andrew Yates was instructed to advise on the issues and process of seeking board approval, shareholder approval and the requirements of Companies House and the Charities Commission. In addition, Andrew advised on the trading disclosures applicable to companies and charities on the disclosure of status, company number, charity number and registered office address.

Andrew Yates, partner said “Working with charities is always a very rewarding experience but the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust is particularly enjoyable as they are so committed to their cause and making sure that they are well organised and  structured to allow them to make the most of all their volunteers’ hard work”.
