Debenhams Ottaway continues to lead the private client arena in the south east, maintaining its tier 1 ranking with clients commenting that the team “compares favourably with City firms”. Partner Nicholas Turner is ranked amongst the “elite leading lawyers” in this area.
The employment team, which only received their first ranking last year moved up to tier 2. The commercial litigation team, again newcomers last year, increased their positioning to tier 3 with clients commenting that they have “a solid practice with a growing reputation”. Both rankings continue to reinforce our continuing commitment and growth in providing legal advice to businesses of all shapes and sizes not just in Hertfordshire and London but also across the UK.
Commercial property and planning maintained their positions from last year, tier 2 and tier 3 respectively. Legal 500 acknowledged that the team has expanded significantly and advised on some major property acquisitions recently. The family team received a tier 3 ranking in what has become a very competitive area in the south east in recent years.
Executive partner Louise Attrup comments “Recognition in directories like Legal 500 is so important. It really helps to reinforce the high level of knowledge, expertise and client care our lawyers provide. We’re proud that our private client team continues to be recognised as leaders in their area, and delighted that our employment and commercial litigation teams are getting the recognition they deserve. Our lawyers continue to have the energy and imagination to build a strong client base and reputation.”
