Debenhams Ottaway recently won an appeal against an Enforcement Notice at Runways Fam, Bovingdon Airfield.
For many years Bovingdon Airfield has been used for motor activities such as advanced driver training by emergency services and private individuals; driver training for under age drivers and recreational driving including Drifting and VIP days. There is a strong demand for these activities from a wide range of the general public as well as commercial businesses and government agencies and the use of the site benefits the local economy.
Mrs Cathy Leahy has won her appeal against the service of an Enforcement Notice, which threatened to put an end to these activities, and has been granted conditional planning permission to retain the motor activity on site. Bernadette Hillman, planning partner at Debenhams Ottaway solicitors commented “We are naturally pleased at the outcome, which will safeguard the future of the businesses operating from the site.”
This was originally reported in the Watford Observer back in September 2014. It was again reported by the Watford Observer after the final decision was made by the Planning Inspectorate in January 2015.
