Debenhams Ottaway was recognised in eight categories (within the south east area) in Legal 500’s recently released rankings. Four of the eight were included for the first time.
Practice areas that were ranked for the first time include employment (tier 3), corporate and commercial (tier 4), commercial litigation (tier 4) and environment (tier 3). This reinforces the firm’s continuing commitment and growth in its services to businesses, advising some of Hertfordshire’s largest businesses as well as its leading entrepreneurs.
Debenhams Ottaway is already well known for its private client, family, property and planning, with all these practice areas ranked again in the directory. Private client maintains its tier 1 position and is acknowledged by Legal 500 as “a leading firm in the Hertfordshire area for the private client field”. Commercial property this year increased its ranking from tier 3 to tier 2 with the directory commenting that the “service provided by the four-partner team at Debenhams Ottaway LLP is ‘consistently high calibre”. Both family and planning maintained their tier 2 and tier 3 ranking respectively.
Chief Executive Ian Hopkins comments “Recognition in Legal 500 reinforces the high level of knowledge, expertise and client care our lawyers provide. Our private client, family, property and planning/environment teams have led the way in gaining recognition in the past. The inclusion this year of employment, commercial litigation and corporate and commercial is well deserved for the teams energy and imagination in building up a first class business client base and reputation.”
