As senior associate heading up our property litigation team, Panayiota takes a practical approach to property disputes. She was recognised in the Legal 500 legal directory for striving to achieve her clients’ objectives in a wide range of property disputes.

Panayiota is a keen communicator and prides herself in listening to her clients’ commercial needs and balancing those against the risks of litigation.

Expertise

Panayiota acts for both landlords and tenants on a wide range of commercial and residential property disputes. These include opposed and unopposed business lease renewals with particular emphasis on renewals opposed on the grounds of redevelopment, residential lease extensions and enfranchisement, exercising of break clauses including disputed notices, forfeiture,  possession proceedings including squatters actions and actions for breaches of covenant including rent arrears.

Panayiota also deals with land disputes including rights of way, adverse possession and boundary disputes, and has also launched our basements disputes service,  part of which includes dealing with claims against professional advisers for property based negligence.

After studying law at City University Panayiota undertook her LPC at the College of Law, London.  She trained and qualified in the West End before joining a Legal 500 firm in Stratford and becoming the head of property litigation.  Panayiota joined Debenhams Ottaway in 2016 and leads our property litigation team.
