We successfully represented our 87-year-old client who fractured her right hip as a result of a fall in a supermarket.

Our client needed a total hip replacement and was hospitalised for 10 days, followed by physiotherapy. Before the accident she was extremely independent. Our client made a satisfactory recovery from the hip fracture and the prognosis was good. The defendant initially contested liability. However, we drew their attention to the CCTV footage which showed that there was a clear hazard/obstruction on the floor of the supermarket which caused the accident and the defendant reviewed its liability position. The claim was settled for £26,000 damages before issue of proceedings.
